CONVERSION TRIGGERS

🚨 Unlocking ChatGPT magic: Crafting compelling landing page copy in seconds

Have you ever had a cool marketing idea but not sure how to start crafting effective sales copy? AI can actually help you with this 👏 .

Creating landing page copy that converts can be hard, but if you have a clear understanding of your product and desired audience, you're halfway there.

Using ChatGPT, we will create a prompt to help us craft a landing page that converts.

The key is to keep it focused. Try to speak like you would to a co-worker or employee, giving precise instructions.

Here’s the prompt:

"Imagine you're starting a dog leash business. Your leash is made from ethically sourced vegan leather. Create effective landing page copy that will target dog owners, trigger emotions of positivity and drive sales. Make it short, engaging and happy."

The Prompt Anatomy:

  • Context (How): ChatGPT has to imagine itself in a business owner role. Keyword = Imagine, you can also use Pretend.

  • Specific Information (What): Selling a dog leash made from ethically sourced vegan leather. It is important to highlight the unique selling point of your product.

  • Intent (Why): Trigger positive emotions and influence sales from dog owners.

  • Response Format (Where): Landing page copy, this make’s ChatGPT aware that the message must be concise, engaging and action-driven.

To keep it simple, I call it the How-What-Why-Where method (my invention 😄).

The Prompt Results:

The Main Point: This result offers a great foundation to build an effective landing page. It strikes a decent balance between triggering positive emotion and putting the customer first while having all the right call-to-actions to drive sales.

📊 THE BENCHMARK

CHATGPT VS CLAUDE

🚨 Which Generative AI tugs on the heartstrings and prompts a purchase?

For today's benchmark test, I decided to put ChatGPT and Claude, the latest ChatGPT competitor, head to head. I wanted to see which chatbot could evoke the most emotion. Which one do you think won? 💪

A study by the University of Chicago found that emotional ads are 60% more memorable than non-emotional ads.

Here’s the prompt:

"Pretend you're a copywriter with years of experience, create an ad copy to advertise our new dog leash made with ethically sourced vegan leather. The copy should trigger the right emotions of joy and happiness."

Takeaway Points:

  • 🖐️ Options - ChatGPT can create multiple ad variations highlighting your product's features in a single request. This saves time and helps you find the perfect messaging.

  • 😊 Emotion - Claude's copy is product-focused. ChatGPT's copy makes people feel something, which leads to action.

  • 👉 CTA - Claude's copy is missing a call-to-action. ChatGPT's copy includes an actionable message and even has a disclaimer to ensure it stays compliant. ChatGPT goes the extra mile.

  • 🎉 Winner - ChatGPT is a win-win. It makes you happy, it makes your pet happy, and it's good for the planet.

Starting Out with Prompts: Easy and Effective Chatbot Strategies

Getting started with prompts is pretty easy. There are a lot of resources available online to walk you through the process.

However, we can complicate things by not understanding a simple fact, generative AI may sometimes give us robotic results, but it fully understands human language.

Don’t overthink it. Write prompts like you’re speaking to a human being (as weird as it sounds 🙄) and you will get the desired results.

Step 1: Craft prompts that flow, and have a How-What-Why-Where component. This will simplify your results and ensure you properly direct the bot.

Step 2: A single prompt can be used a million ways. Whenever you come up with a prompt that offers you great results, make sure to save it.

Bonus tip: You can use examples to provide more context if you’re not getting the desired results.

For example ✍️:

Prompt: "I'm writing a fantasy novel and need ideas for creating a unique magical creature. Can you help?"

Using Examples to Clarify: "I'm writing a fantasy novel and need ideas for creating a unique magical creature. For instance, I'm envisioning a world where nature and technology intertwine. How can I design a creature that embodies this blend of organic and mechanical elements?"

By providing an example of the specific theme, you give ChatGPT a better idea of the direction, which can lead to a more tailored response in line with your vision. 🙌

USE CASES & APPLICATION

⭐️Here are some additional tips for crafting prompts that yield amazing results

Applying prompts to simplify your everyday marketing routine requires some practice to get it just right.

Check out this quick video from the “App of the Day” Youtube channel, they do a good job of breaking it down.

Here are some things to keep in mind:

  1. Be Clear and Specific: Clearly state what you're looking for or the context of the conversation. The more specific your prompt, the better the response.

  2. State Your Intent: Be clear about what kind of result you are expecting. If the end goal is to influence sales or get more email signups, be direct.

  3. Use Correct Spelling & Grammar: This prevents confusion and allows for more focused responses.

  4. Direct the Output Format: If you want responses in a certain tone (professional, casual, humorous), mention it in the prompt. This helps set the right mood for the conversation.

  5. Use Keywords: Incorporate important keywords related to your topic or industry. This can guide ChatGPT to provide responses that are more relevant to your needs.

  6. Ask Follow Up Questions: Use phrases like "Tell me more about..." or "Explain in detail..." to prompt longer and more informative responses.

  7. Experiment with Variations: If you're not getting the desired response, try rephrasing or rewording your prompt. Sometimes a slight adjustment can lead to a better outcome.

  8. Prompt for Fact Checking: If you want specific limitations or parameters in the response, clearly outline them in the prompt.

  9. Combine Prompts: Feel free to combine multiple prompts or questions within one input to create a more interactive and dynamic conversation.
